Roy H. Pierce
Roy H. Pierce, 68, of 1815 S. Winfield Drive, Tiffin, died at 5:50 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2006, at Mount Carmel West Hospital in Columbus.
Roy was born April 18, 1938, to the late Roy and Jennie (Crouse) Pierce. On July 18, 1964, he married Nancy (Binkley) Pierce in Fremont, and she survives.
Other survivors include his two children, Keith (Sandra) Pierce of Tiffin and Kim (Michael) Nye of Maineville. He also has five grandchildren, Megan, Cole, Carson, Christian and Erika, who also survive.
His parents and a sister, Betty Schuster, preceded him in death.
Roy was the owner/operator of Magers Lumber Company in Tiffin for 17 years. He was formerly of Bettsville where he was the former fire chief, mayor, city council member and EMTA. He was a fire instructor for the state of Ohio and also was the owner of the 01 Racing Team, with driver Art Ball, for 15 years. He was a past master of the Tiffin Lodge 77, high priest of the Seneca Chapter 42, past master of Clinton Council 47, past commander of DeMolay Commandery 9, a member of the Ohio Priory 18, a knight of the York Cross of Honor Ohio Priory 18 and member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo. Roy's life was centered on his grandchildren, gardening and his race team.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home in Tiffin with the Rev. David Culp officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at the funeral home, where a Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation or the Masonic Eye Foundation.
